Long term residence
applicants must fulfill the following conditions: 

• the applicant has resided legally and continuously in Malta for 5 years or more
• she/he has stable and regular resources which are sufficient to support himself/herself and the members of his/her family
•  Purchase or rental of property.

Persons applying for this status must undergo a special training course on the history, culture and economy of Malta, to pass examinations and must prove proficiency in English or in Maltese.

Study:
Temporary residence is issued for the entire period of study for students of private schools, colleges and the University of Malta.

Residence Scheme for high income foreign workers
The application fee is 6000 €This scheme is attractive to those who are interested in special beneficial 15% flat tax rate. The residents with such status are entitled to work or operate a business in Malta.
Conditions that have to be fulfilled by applicants: 

• The minimum stay requirement is 90 days per year.
•  The applicant must purchase a property for a value of not less than 400.000 or rent property at a minimum rent of €20000 a year.
• The applicant must prove that he has stable and regular resources sufficient to support herself/himself and any dependents.

A qualifying contract.
This is a contract between the Government of Malta and the applicant wherein the applicant must transfer 500.000 €, and 150.000 € for each dependent as a voluntary deposit.

After the new scheme came into effect the application for long-term resident status can be made through authorized representatives only. For more information you can apply in the company office.
